Ambassadors are very important members of the Operation Cleft team.

These babies need our help and the only way we can help them is if you help us raise awareness of Operation Cleft and the essential funds needed to provide this life-changing surgery.

If you would like to hear more about Operation Cleft, our Ambassadors will be happy to have a chat with you and arrange a time to speak to your club/group about the project. Please check the list below to see if you have a local Ambassador in your area.

Would you consider becoming an
Ambassador for Operation Cleft?

Operation Cleft have provided more than 10,300 free cleft lip or palate repair operations on poor and underprivileged children in Bangladesh over the last ten years. But with more than 4,000 children born with clefts each year, and repair surgery not covered under Bangladesh’s public healthcare system, there is still much more to do.

Left untreated, clefts contribute to difficulty in feeding, malnutrition, and weakening of the immune system, resulting in 12% of children born with clefts dying before the age of five. And as they grow, many will suffer social isolation, depression, malnutrition and ear, nose and throat infections and exclusion from education.

Simple cleft repair surgery can gift these children a Smile for Life and dramatically improve their future.

We would like to invite you to be an Ambassador for Operation Cleft and to help us change the lives of these children in Bangladesh.

By becoming an Operation Cleft Ambassador, you will be encouraging others in your community to help us in our quest to improve the lives of these Bangladeshi children born with a cleft lip or palate.

As an Operation Cleft Ambassador, we would like you to contact service clubs and community groups in your area and seek opportunities to make presentations on behalf of Operation Cleft at one of their meetings. We will provide you with detailed information about Operation Cleft (including answers to Frequently Asked Questions), a PowerPoint presentation on USB with speaker notes, and current marketing materials such as posters, flyers, and newsletters. In your presentation, you will tell the story of Operation Cleft and seek their support for our work.

Through your efforts as an Ambassador, you will be working to increase the number of people and groups who support Operation Cleft, and the more support we get, the more lives we can change.

If you would like to find out more, contact the Operation Cleft office on 03 9877 9717 or by email info@operationcleft.org.au for further information and an application form.
